About

20190113_110140.jpgMy name is Wendy, and I was born and raised in Western New York. I am a country girl who grew up with 40+ acres of forest and farmland to wander about on.  I love all things outdoors. I am now a true-blue suburbanite who is  embracing small spaces, and making the space I have beautiful, one plant at a time! There is so much that I have yet to learn, and I am anxious to share all of my gardening adventures with you!

  1. Nice to meet you Wendy! Love gardening too! I went from four postage stamps to one and now back to…well a few more. I like a few more better! The wildlife is so much more than when I was in the city. I went to NY last year. Loved what I saw. Best wishes to you, Koko❀

  2. Thank you Koko, and thank you for visiting my site! Western New York really is a beautiful place. I wouldnt have said that when I was younger, but now I understand that its not a bad place! Happy gardening to you!

  3. I too am a novice at gardening. I could use some suggestions about which flowers to grow in a partially sunny area (the early morning sun shines on it until about noon). I live in central British Columbia, which is warmer than other parts of Canada, though the climate is not like that in the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver, BC.) I just started my blog here, so I don’t have a lot of posts yet. I’d love to hear from you.

    • Marion, thank you so much for stopping by my blog — I really do love to pass along helpful tips that I have learned through trial and error, as well as learning from my family, particularly my parents! British Columbia is one of the places I would love to cross off my bucket list some day! Do you happen to know what hardiness zone you live in? That will help you a lot when it comes to what plants would flourish in your particular area. There are so many flowers and plants that you can find at your local nursery or home improvement store that are part sun- it’s your choice as to what you would like to grow! I look forward to visiting your blog as well!
